What will we do now?

We've lost it to trying

We've lost it to trying

What will we do now?

We've lost it to trying

We've lost it to trying

What can we say now?

Our mouths only lying

Our mouths only lying

What can we say now?

Our mouths only lying

Our mouths only lying

Give in and get out

We rise in the dying

We rise in the dying

Give in and get out

We rise in the dying

We rise in the dying

Give in and get out

We rise in the dying

We rise in the dying

Give in and get out

We rise in the dying

We

What will we do now?

We've lost it to trying

We've lost it to trying

What will we do now?

We've lost it to trying

We've lost it to trying

'Lost it to trying' is a bit more subtle, but in light of 'Give in and get out', clearly there were incompatibilities in the relationship, they wanted different things, but interestingly they tried *too hard* to make it work *on their own individual terms*, rather than loving more generously the way things simply were. Until they lost it to trying.

The crucial line is 'We rise in the dying'. Better to have loved and lost? This love failed but they emerge stronger out of it?

The couple’s relationship is irremediably lost. They kept trying, which only left them in a standstill with a dysfunctional relationship.

The couple feels despair at their inability to rekindle their passions for each other. They try to give life to their dead relationship with empty words, but they both know that they don’t mean it.
